Unstoppable! – How A Concerned Mother Launched a Movement to Free the World of GMOs and Glyphosates
Aired Tuesday, 16 April 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
Interview with Author and Moms Across America Founder Zen Honeycutt
“Just because glyphosates have toxified our soil, our crops and our microbiome don’t mean we should take it poisonally.” — Swami Beyondananda
It has long been said that necessity is the mother of invention. But … sometimes it is motherhood that makes invention necessary.
Moms Across America grew out of one mother’s concern about her children’s health. Several years ago, Zen Honeycutt’s boys were suffering from chronic health issues — allergies, asthma, autoimmune issues and even autism. She writes, “It was overwhelming- I felt terrified and helpless. Then I learned about the food supply and the toxins our children are exposed to, started Moms Across America and connected with thousands of people dedicated to health.”
That one decision to educate herself and take charge of her family’s health has sparked an “upwising” that has impacted thousands of other families and moved the dial:
• 600+ Mothers Against America volunteers have hosted 1000+ events nationwide.
• Organic food products are growing 3 times faster than conventional
• 82% of America households now buy some form of organic food – Organic Trade Association
• Over 200 locations have restricted or banned glyphosate.
• There are now countless healthy children whose families hope for the future has been restored.
Having immersed myself in this conversation in recent months, I’ve concluded that when it comes to glyphosates (the key ingredient in Monsanto’s Round-Up and other herbicides), there are two kinds of people: The kind who are concerned if not alarmed … and those who haven’t looked into the issue.
Meanwhile, Monsanto — now part of Bayer, those wonderful folks who brought us Auschwitz — and their minions continue to spread disinformation disguised as “science”, in spite of the recent successful lawsuits affirming the link between glyphosate exposure and cancer.
If you would like to find out more about Round-Up, glyphosates and GMOs — and how to mitigate the harm they do, and inform others — tune in for this inspiring story of how one concerned mother moved the dial.

The Financial Freedom Act – How to Eliminate the Income Tax and Pay For All We Need… And More
Aired Tuesday, 9 April 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
Interview with Author and Entrepreneur Scott Smith, Founder of the Foundation for a Better Economy
“If we are going to have a casino economy, let’s at least make sure we the people are the ‘house’.” — Swami Beyondananda
Ready to stretch your imagination?
You sure?
OK … Imagine as if by magic, there is no more income tax, no more sales tax, or property tax. Then imagine we find a way to magically pay for everything the government currently spends money on … plus free health care for all, social security that is “secure” forever, and a guaranteed income of about $24,000 a year for every adult American. Oh, and then imagine all of this, AND we pay off the national debt.
Our guest this week, Scott Smith, an economic visionary with feet-on-the-ground experience has a plan to do just that. He calls his proposed legislation the Financial Freedom Act … and by taxing the $5 quadrillion in financial transactions that take place every year instead of the mere $16 trillion in income, we can finance the world of our dreams.
Over the past several generations our economy has shifted from the “material economy” (the part of the economy that is about making “things”) to the “monetary economy” (the part of the economy that is about making money). With factories closing and production jobs going offshore, an entirely new industry has become the way to create wealth. Our tax system that was created more than a century ago reflects a time when most of the money in the economy has given way to what is called “financialization”. Our economy is basically centered on making money rather than producing value. Meanwhile the financial economy — the world of interest, speculation, mergers and acquisitions — expands unfettered, while those who produce and provide “income” is forced to bear the burden.
I read the shortened version of Scott Smith’s book, and I find it one of the most promising, heartening, transformational and doable proposals I have ever seen. Sure, the financial institutions and reified powers in power will fight the idea tooth and nail. But as what the Swami would call “a critical mass of the heretofore uncritical masses” hear about it, the movement to enact it will make the Tea Party and Occupy movements seem like sewing circles.
Scott Smith was an early pioneer in structured finance, launching the first mixed-property commercial mortgage conduit and securing a billion-dollar line of credit from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). Scott also helped structure financing for President Nelson Mandela’s Redevelopment Program for affordable housing.
He is founder and former publisher of Kidz Magazine, which invited young readers to submit content. The publication grew from a local magazine to an international media channel, with a circulation that spanned 30 nations. Scott also is the co-founder of two Colorado charter schools, Summit Middle School and Peak-to-Peak Charter School, the latter of which is ranked among the nation’s top schools by Time Magazine and U.S. News & World Report.
Seriously and humorously, this might be one of the MOST IMPORTANT INTERVIEWS I have ever done!

Candidate Tulsi Gabbard Focuses on IDENTICAL Issues, Not Identity Issues
Aired Tuesday, 26 March 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) Speaks At University of San Francisco
“There has been a key missing element in government of, by and for the people — the people!” — Swami Beyondananda
Once again it’s time for the (bad) dog and (lame) pony show called “electoral politics” which seems to be designed to keep the American people occupied fighting over “identity issues” instead of gathering around the IDENTICAL ISSUES we all face, cultivating the virtues and values that 90% of us share, and using those to set a standard for governance.
While Presidential campaigns have long been called out as “beauty pageants” and “popularity contests,” the 2016 campaign stood out in stark contrast. It was an “ugly pageant” and “unpopularity contest”, as people rushed to the polls to vote against the candidate they hated more. The results were conclusive: “None-of-the-above” would have won in a landslide.
And here we are once again, with the Democratic (sic) Party establishment set on going back to what the voters didn’t want in 2016, and polishing their image as “we’re not as bad as the other guys”, while a Democratic socialist insurgency seeks to “fight the power” and pull the party leftward.
In the midst of this replay of a scenario that handed Trumpism a victory in 2016, there is one candidate who stands out as sane … coherent … courageous … qualified, and on the scene to be of service, and who is ready to bust the divide-and-conquer game that “pits one group of us against the other for their own gain.”
That candidate is Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), who served as Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager in her home state, and then resigned her position at the Democratic National Committee over how she perceived Bernie to be cheated out of delegates by the DNC.
We had the opportunity to meet her when she came to speak at the University of San Francisco on March 16th … and we were not disappointed. In addition to calling our corruption that is kept in place by both major parties, she announced herself ready, willing and able to stand up to the military industrial complex, and re-purpose billions of dollars toward the wellbeing of the American people, and not the American empire. Unlike every President since Bush Senior, Tulsi actually served in the military during the Iraq War. Consequently, she has no illusions what war looks like, and she is decidedly against “wars of regime change” and “not intimidated by stars on the shoulder”.
She is better than “plainspoken” — she is “real spoken”, forthcoming about her Hindu faith and the “spirit of aloha” that unites us. Yes, yes, yes. George Burns the cynic put it well: “Sincerity and honesty. If you can fake those, you got it made.”
My BS detector says Tulsi is real — a real person, taking on this mission to be in service to our country and its people, not her ego. I am enrolled in seeing her get the 65,000 individual donations that will qualify her for the debates. I’m betting that if you listen in, you will too.

Documentaries For A Conscious Humanity — Making Peace, One Movie at a Time
Aired Tuesday, 19 March 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
An Interview with Filmmaker Emmanuel Itier
“If you don’t like the current programming, turn off your TV and tell-a-vision instead.” — Swami Beyondananda
Movies move us.
Sure they were originally called “movies” because they were “motion pictures”. And there is something about the total immersion in a darkened theater watching a large screen that “puts us in the picture” and creates a totality of experience that is not just intellectual, but visceral and all-encompassing. That’s why movies move us.
Can movies move us toward an actual movement that moves the world?
Our guest on Wiki Politiki this week, filmmaker Emmanuel Itier thinks so. Born in France, Itier moved to the US 30 years ago and has used his platform in recent years to promote consciousness, and political and spiritual transformation.
His most recent film — created in collaboration with Executive Producer Sharon Stone, is called WE THE PEOPLE — a worldwide exploration of the notions of politics and economics with the likes of Robert Reich, Deepak Chopra, Sharon Stone, Michael Beckwith, Nobel Peace Laureates Mairead Maguire and Tawakkol Karman, Vandana Shiva, Mark Wahlberg, and many others. Says Emmanuel, “If we cultivate caring economies and politics maybe we can build a sustainable planet full of peace, justice and love for everybody. When you watch WE THE PEOPLE you will realize we are not focusing at putting anyone, any party, down but we are focusing on the possible solution to better our Humanity and use the tools of politics and economics to build a sustainable future.”
In the subtitle, Emmanuel uses a compelling and “swami-esque” phrase, “Re-evolution” to cite the need to move beyond the old paradigm “revolution” to the far more constructive and generative “evolution” to describe the passage in front of us.
He says, “This is a re-evolution of peace and love. How can we re-invent ourselves as one humanity, all interconnected, all interdependent from each other? Yes, we need a real change, a real shift of mind set and start looking again as collaborative forces and not as competitors, a peaceful neighbors and not segregated individuals. We need also a leadership inviting us to unite beyond our difference of opinion because we share the same land under the same sky.”
Emmanuel Itier has enjoyed more than two decades of film success prior to this documentary. He directed: Tell Me No Lies (2000), Scarecrow (2002), The Invocation (featuring Deepak Chopra, Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama) and Bermuda Femme (2013). He also produced: Wildflower (1999) and Scarecrow Slayer (2003). In addition, he acted as a co-producer and financing consultant for Johnny Mnemonic, Another 9½ Weeks, Shattered Image (1998), The Dentist (1996), and Progeny (1999). Itier has also been a successful music and film journalist for rock magazines, French TV networks and the Internet for over twenty years. Finally Mr. Itier was a recipient of the 2018 Global Citizen Award from the prestigious United Nation Association, and was named President of The Year 2018 by the Rotary E- Club of World Peace.
Can movies “move us” to massively mobilize and move?
Tune in this Tuesday, March 19th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET and hear what a “new edge” filmmaker has to say. http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/

Peter B. Collins – Progressive Journalism in Regressive Times
Aired Tuesday, 12 March 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
An Interview with Talk Show Host and Uncommontator Peter B. Collins
“Forget taking America back. Let’s take her forward.” — Swami Beyondananda
Tom Paine would have called these soul-trying times. And anyone with soul would call these “paine-ful” times. We have a president who is a bold-faced liar, and a mainstream press that prefers lying by omission and nuance. What a choice. Covert skullduggery, or overt scumbaggery. Caught between the devil and the deep blue state.
So how does one navigate these waters, when it’s hard to tell fake real news from real fake news?
Wonder no more. Our guest this week Peter B. Collins, is here to disabuse the politically abused, and hold the line for sanity and wisdom at a time when both are in short supply.
Peter B. grew up in Cincinnati, and in high school he and his buddies built a closed-circuit campus radio station. He went to Northwestern in Chicago, and a few years later he was hosting the late-night talk show on WLS-FM (WDAI), which rose to #1. He moved to the Bay Area in 1976 as a DJ and talk show host on KOME in San Jose. In the late 1970s he was a weekend talk host at KGO in San Francisco, the market leader. For most of the 1980s he was morning personality at KRQR, The Rocker.
In 1989, he returned to talk radio at KNBR, where he was the token liberal and followed Rush each day. He followed that with an afternoon stint on KSFO, before it was sold into right-wing demagoguery. He was a satellite radio pioneer on Sirius 2003-2004, and hosted the syndicated Peter B. Collins Show from 2005-2009. He was part owner of progressive talk station KRXA in Monterey, California, which was sold in 2014.
He currently produces a daily podcast, PBC News & Comment where he covers issues that mainstream media give “blanket coverage” — meaning they cover them up with a blanket to make sure everyone is left in the dark.
Writes Peter about himself:
Peter B. Collins is burdened with too many opinions. He follows news and politics to a degree that one friend calls “borderline obsessive” and the Peter B. Collins Show is his therapy. From San Francisco, he brings you his views and analysis on important national and international issues, and interviews political leaders, journalists, authors and others who know more than he does.
If you’re curious about how a truth-telling progressive walks the line — or is it “the lyin'” — between two incomplete narratives, tune in this Tuesday, March 12th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET. http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/

Wise Democracy: Accessing the Wisdom of We the People to Create Political Climate Change
Aired Tuesday, 5 March 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PST
An Interview with Author and Wisdom Council Convener Jim Rough
“If we want peace in the Middle East, first we need to create peace in the Middle West.” — Swami Beyondananda
As my colleague Bruce Lipton points out, when we are adrenalized by anger and outrage, we go into “fight or flight”. In other words, our energy flows from our cerebral cortex to our hindbrain. We become more reactive, less creative. And when we are in a political climate where outrage against the other is carefully and continually cultivated, we become downright stupid.
As many progressives can see, this “stupidization” process had culminated in Donald Trump as President. However, what many progressives cannot see is that their own blind outrage has fueled the flames of misunderstanding and taken us further from the awareness we will collectively need to “overgrow” our current corrupt political “shituation.”
Consider this quote from a New York Times OpEd piece on our “Culture of Contempt” by Arthur C. Brooks of the American Enterprise Institute: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/02/opinion/sunday/political-polarization.html
This “outrage industrial complex” works by catering to just one ideological side, creating a species of addiction by feeding our desire to believe that we are completely right and that the other side is made up of knaves and fools. It strokes our own biases while affirming our worst assumptions about those who disagree with us.
Fortunately, there are some excellent tools available for we the people to not just listen to and hear one another, but to collaborate on bringing forth breakthrough solutions and “political climate change.” This week’s show is about one such tool.
In Spontaneous Evolution, in our chapter “Healing the Body Politic”, Bruce Lipton and I explored what author James Surowiecki called “the wisdom of crowds” and Tom Atlee calls “co-intelligence” as we offer example after example of how ordinary people can collectively access extraordinary wisdom. One of the specific examples we gave was the work of Jim Rough, author of Society’s Breakthrough! Releasing Essential Wisdom and Virtue in All the People. Jim is the developer of Dynamic Facilitation and exciting strategy called the Wisdom Council Process, that has been practiced widely around the world and has actually been incorporated into the Constitutions of two states of Austria.
Writes Jim:
Dynamic Facilitation is a way to spark people to achieve breakthrough progress on impossible-to-solve issues. In my seminars teaching Dynamic Facilitation participants often practice their new skills by facing impossible-seeming issues from society like climate change, partisan gridlock, threats of authoritarianism, etc. More than 25 years ago, this led to the development of the Wisdom Council Process.
Today our society is like a supertanker heading in a direction no one wants to go—trashing the planet, our democratic institutions and our people. But the “Wisdom Council Process” offers a way to quickly turn things around. It’s a way to educate the people, create shared vision, heal the partisan divide, establish new legislation, generate new technologies, etc.
Jim Rough is a social innovator and Director of the Center for Wise Democracy. As a business consultant he developed “Dynamic Facilitation” and “The Wisdom Council Process,” new tools which are used all over the world to bring transformational change to individuals and organizations. He is also a speaker, seminar leader and author of the book, “Society’s Breakthrough! Releasing Essential Wisdom and Virtue in All the People.”(2002)
If you’re ready to discover how seemingly opposite polarities can transcend the current “tug-of-war” and pull together in a “tug of peace”, tune in this Tuesday, March 5th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET: http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/

Inner Journeys, Cosmic Sojourns
Aired Tuesday, 26 February 2019, 5:00 PM EST
An Interview with Transpersonal Hypnotherapist and Author Stephen Poplin
“Past lives? Been there, done that.” — Swami Beyondananda
At a time when being in the here and now can feel quite challenging, perhaps being in the “there and then” can offer us some perspective. On this week’s Wiki Politiki, we take a detour to look at the long, long, long view.
How long? Lifetimes … eons … beyond time, and what you or I would consider “reality.”
Our guest this week, Stephen Poplin, has worn many hats: political philosopher, astrologer, transpersonal hypnotherapist. It was while practicing hypnotic regression with his clients that he uncovered not just the world of past lives, but life between lives. Following in the footsteps of hypnotherapist Michael Newton, Stephen “interviewed” thousands of people in deep trance, and heard remarkable past life stories that shed light on their present life issues. His book, Inner Journeys, Cosmic Sojourns, is a fascinating chronicle of these stories.
So, one might ask, what in the world has this to do with Wiki Politiki?
In Stephen’s words, it’s a chance to “step back and view the big picture, and check out the cosmic map.” If you accept the possibility of reincarnation (Swami says, “if you don’t believe in reincarnation, don’t worry … you will in your next lifetime”), it means over many lifetimes, we’ve been nearly everywhere and seen it all. We’ve been men and women, many races and religions, and we have “done unto” just as surely as it has been “done unto” us.
The fascinating stories in his book speak to the breadth and universality of human experience, and suggest that the political tribulations we seem to be undergoing today are part of a much larger learning arc.
A lifelong learner, Stephen Poplin attended six universities in three countries, earning degrees in philosophy and humanities (his graduate work concerned inter-cultural studies, utopian literature, and comparative religions). He also studied drama therapy and psychodrama, history and civilization.
He moved to Virginia Beach, VA to study the Edgar Cayce readings, where he years gave talks at the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment) and saw patients and taught courses at the Center for Integrative Medicine – a part of the George Washington University Medical Center, Washington DC. He also trained with Dr. Michael Newton, and is the former International Director of The Michael Newton Institute for Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy. He currently lives in Ames, Iowa and travels frequently to Europe.
Guaranteed you will find this an intriguing, mind-bending conversation — and it may well give you some long, long distance perspective on your life, and our world.

Most Of What You Believe About Poverty Is Wrong with Mauricio Miller!
Aired Tuesday, 19 February 2019, 5:00 PM EST
An Interview with Mauricio Miller, Founder of The Alternative Project
“The war on poverty? It’s over. The poor people have surrendered.” — Swami Beyondananda
At a time when the gap between rich and poor is the widest in ninety years, we need more funding for poverty programs, right?
Well … maybe and maybe not. This week’s guest, Mauricio Miller, author of The Alternative, points out that poverty programs over the past 50 years haven’t really moved the dial. What if the poverty programs themselves kept the conditions in place? What if the real beneficiaries have been those who have SERVED the underserved community? What if these programs promote dependency and not self-reliance?
What if the current way of giving help has left people helpless, and actually created a “industry” that makes sure the problem stays in place, largely unsolved?
Here is a quote from The Alternative that may shed some light on the “shadow” of anti-poverty programs:
In a letter to pastors, while in the Birmingham jail, Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote:
“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizens Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate.” Noting their paternalism, he continued, “Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill.”
Mauricio’s understanding comes from his own upbringing in a single-parent family. His mother — proud, resourceful, independent and smart — found herself up against stereotyped images of who people thought she was, and a social welfare system that discouraged all of those things!
After years of watching that same system disempower and fail to serve the next generation, he presented California’s then-Governor Jerry Brown with a radical plan to encourage poor communities to cultivate their own resources and find their own solutions. He founded the Family Independence Initiative (FII) in 2001, to capture the stories and data which demonstrate that low-income families, when working together, have the capacity to help themselves and help one another towards sustained upward mobility. Now working independently on the “Alternative Project”, Mauricio seeks to utilize those proof points to challenge the negative stereotype that low income families are “takers” from society. The project advocates for investing directly in family and group self-determined efforts, increasing mobility and their contributions to society.
In recognition of his unconventional approach to generating economic mobility among low-income families, Mauricio was awarded a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship in 2012. He was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions, is an Ashoka Fellow, a Prime Mover Fellow and a Purpose Prize winner among other awards. He was honored with an invitation to President Clinton’s 1999 State of the Union address, has served on bank and philanthropic boards and started small businesses. He is the author of “The Alternative: Most of what you believe about poverty is wrong” among other publications.
If you’ve wondered why the issue of “poverty” has been so intractable this past half-century, you’ll definitely want to catch this lively discussion. Tune in this Tuesday, February 19th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/

The “Green Economy” In Action
An Interview Purium Co-Founder Dave Sandoval
“We don’t need to save the planet, just spend it more wisely.” — Swami Beyondananda
There’s been a lot of buzz recently about “green jobs” and the Green New Deal as a way of restoring the ecology and renewing the economy. However, the overall plan seems to gloss over the inconvenient truth that we must restore the soil and microbiome, and “overgrow” chemical farming and glyphosates (Round-Up) that depletes our soil.
Our guest this week on Wiki Politiki is Dave Sandoval, co-founder of Purium, provider of plant-based nutritional products since 1994, and a successful “green” entrepreneur who DOES care about the soil. As Swami has said, “Going green can get us out of the red and keep us in the pink.”
Dave Sandoval, has made it his life’s mission to change the world for the better. From nutrition and the environment to domestic violence and poverty, Dave has advocated on behalf of many causes. He’s invited people into his home to personally help them get healthy, lose weight or achieve their goals. And, through his mentorship program, he has inspired all kinds of people, including celebrities, to get out into the world and make a difference. Dave founded Purium in post-riot Long Beach with Gandhi’s philosophy, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
That’s when he started making 100% pure products out of his home in 1994, and he now has 100 pharmacists and almost 30,000 salespeople around the world working for his company Purium Health Products, which hit $47 million in revenue last year and is expecting to hit $75 million in revenue this year — a 276% growth in just three years.
If you’re curious how your buying choices can enrich the soil as well as your own microbiome, and wondering how and what you eat impact your wellbeing, please tune in for this discussion with a leading edge business person with top-line products and a triple bottom line, tune in this Tuesday, February 12th at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET – http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/

The Yellow Vests vs. Vested Interests – A People’s Upwising
An Interview with American Ex-Pat and Marxist-Humanist Scholar Richard Greeman
“We have a deeply-divided body politic. Half the people believe our system is broken, the other half believe it is fixed.” — Swami Beyondananda
We are living in what Tom Paine would have called “soul-trying” times.
While progressives are still baffled as to how Donald Trump became President and continue to be pulled into the very “resistance” that energizes Trumpism, a growing number of Americans are awakening to the political “shell” game. Regardless of which party wins, when it comes to the fundamental focus and rules of governance, those who already have too much money, power and influence seem to have the final say.
Consider that under Obama (and Hillary as Secretary of State) we had the same neocon / neoliberal foreign policy as under Bush and Cheney. And even the Huffington Post has had to admit that income inequality became worse under Obama than it was under George W. Bush.
The narrative playing on the mainstream is still about the growing list of “hopefuls” for the 2020 Presidential campaign, while the condition of the body politic remains “hopeless” unless we do a mass detox off of “hopium” and “deniatol.” What is needed is a true “2020 vision” to help we the people overgrow our corrupt and dysfunctional system, from the grassroots up instead of the top down.
Fortunately, there is true hope on the horizon and it comes from the folks who helped us with the first American Revolution — France. You’ve probably been hearing about the Yellow Vest movement, which has been presented as one of those nationalistic, xenophobic “right wing” movements that seem to be sweeping Europe and the rest of the world.
Not so fast, says my Wiki guest this week, Richard Greeman, an American expatriate living in France and a bona fide leftist. What he has observed first-hand is a movement of ordinary people tired of being told, “Let them eat cake” by a Marie Antoinette sound-alike Emmanuel Macron, who is an investment banker disguised as a “socialist.” As Greeman tells us in the interview, this is a from-the-ground-up movement that has rejected any affiliation with any party, right and left. This is the true “peoples upwising.”
Richard Greeman is a self-described “Marxist-humanist, libertarian socialist and anarchist revolutionary”. He calls himself a red diaper grandbaby because his maternal grandfather was an admirer and follower of socialist presidential candidate Eugene V. Debs. When labeled a communist by a classmate as a child, Richard replied, “I’m a commonist — I am for the common people”. A graduate of Yale, Richard was one of the founders of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). After the fall of the Soviet Union, he traveled to Russia where he deepened his studies of Victor Serge, a Marxist anarchist internationalist novelist. In 1997, he helped establish the Victor Serge Public Library in Moscow and in 1998 co-founded the Praxis Research and Education Center in Moscow. Long story short, he brings a lifetime of awareness and perspective to a vexing movement … the Yellow Vest uprising in France … and the “vested interests” that are looking to dis-inform and misinform us on that topic.
The mainstream press has painted it as a right wing movement, and indeed the press has cherry-picked right wing extremists to interview to “represent” the movement. Tune in this Tuesday, and get a more balanced picture of what is happening in France — and what COULD happen hear if progressives and populists ever got together for a generative conversation.
If you’re feeling that currently the American body politic is stuck inside an unworkable system called “Futilism,” please catch this broadcast to discover how an angry uprising has led to an “upwising” where French citizens are working together for a change, to challenge a toxic and unworkable system that makes the elites richer and richer and the rest of us … not so much.
