What the Alt-Right and Alt-Left Both Know - That We ALL Need to Know
A Conversation With Alt-Left Journalist Mark Crispin Miller and Alt-Right Commentator Paul Craig Roberts
“We need more forums, and fewer againstums.” — Swami Beyondananda
Friday … March 6, 1981.
A notable date, and I’m willing to bet no one recognizes it or its significance. I only know it because I looked it up. It was the last broadcast Walter Cronkite made as anchorman on CBS Evening News. It was the last time he would say, “And that’s the way it is…” and have the majority of Americans regardless of which party they favored believe him.
It was the beginning of the end of an era where Americans shared a common narrative, and a commonly-sensed faith in the “goodness” of America, its institutions, and its people. It was before the polarization brought on by the weaponized politics of Newt Gingrich, and the betrayal of America’s working people by neoliberal Democrats. It was 20 years before the 911 attacks that recalled other perpetrations against the American people like the JFK, RFK and MLK assassinations.
It was back there — way, way back in almost ancient history — when “fake news” was called by its real name, “lies”.
A key purpose of Wiki Politiki — quixotic as it may seem — is to bring awakening elements of left and right front-and-center in a conversation to go above and beyond both mainstream news and fabricated disinformation, and to find a likelier story that will help us metabolize the past and move forward as a healed and healthy body politic.
The question isn’t “Can we do it?” but “HOW can we do it?” A common sense consensus of “what’s so … so what … and now what” is REQUIRED for the survival and thrival of our experiment in self-governance.
In the first of what I hope will be many such conversations for possibility, I am bringing together two courageous outside-the-box thinkers, alt left journalist Mark Crispin Miller and alt right commentator Paul Craig Roberts in a conversation for co-creation. What DO the alt left and the alt-right agree is “so”, and how can this become the foundation for a new, truth-based narrative that will heal the disheartenment in the heartland and move us toward the future the vast majority of us desire?
Mark Crispin Miller and Paul Craig Roberts have one significant thing in common: They’ve both held prestigious positions in mainstream journalism and politics. Miller is a communications professor at NYU and wrote a humorous and mainstream book in 2002 called The Bush Dyslexicon. However, two years later his book Fooled Again, provided ample proof that both the 2000 and 2004 elections were stolen by hacked voting machines — and he became less of a mainstream darling.
Paul Craig Roberts served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during the Reagan Administration and was an editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal. He has been a critic of neo-conservativism and neoliberalism since the Iraq War and has been outspoken in his critique of the official 911 narrative.
In addition to finding out how each of these individuals found the perspective and courage to venture outside the mainstream narratives, we will also discover what common ground they share, AND how we the people can call forth and empower a media we can rely on, and a government that does the bidding of the people, not the bidding of the highest bidder.

Forgiveness and Healing the Body Politic
It might seem a bit strange for a program called Wiki Politiki to do a show on something as personal and spiritual as forgiveness.
And yet it makes perfect sense, particularly if we want to go above and beyond the current level of polarized discourse, where each side has dehumanized the other. If we truly want a healthy, thriving, vital, and wise body politic we have to metabolize the toxins of 5,000 years of the Rule of Gold: Doo-doo unto others before they can doo-doo unto you.
There isn’t an ethnic group, religion (with the possible exception of the B’hai faith) or other tribe that hasn’t “done unto” some other group, and had it “done unto” them. The history of man(un)kind is filled with atrocities and silent holocausts that have left just about all of us with some form of PTSD.
Seriously.
South Africa took steps to heal (i.e., restore wholeness) through their Truth and Reconciliation movement a quarter century ago so that they could acknowledge and forgive the wrongs perpetrated by both sides, without revenge, retribution and punishment. If we want to heal the body politic in the USA and elsewhere, we now must do the same.
This week’s guest, Dr. Leonard Laskow, offers a deep and practical wisdom on the power of forgiveness, personal, tribal and global. Dr. Laskow is the author of For Giving Love: Awakening Your Essential Nature Through Love and Forgiveness, and offers scientific evidence that the process of forgiveness yields positive physiological benefits!
We’re also featuring the healing work of Celeste Yacoboni, author of “How Do You Pray?” who offers a Hawaiian forgiveness ritual, Ho ‘opono Pono (making the right, right) as a way of forgiving yourself and others. Tune in and find out about how a medical doctor at a mental health hospital in Hawaii helped “heal” the inmates — by doing the process on himself!
Please join us Tuesday, November 21st for this enlightening and heartening show.

Conscious Evolution: Antidote to Mass-Extinction with Bruce Lipton
“Crisis precipitates evolution, and if we look at our world in crisis, we see the chances of precipitation are 100%.” — Swami Beyondananda
As we create a new foundation for “political climate change”, what better place to begin than biology itself, evolution, and where we humans fit (or don’t fit) in the web of life? So it’s “fitting” that my first interviewed guest on Wiki Politiki is my friend, colleague and co-author, Bruce Lipton.
Bruce is a pioneer in epigenetics, and the author of bestseller and classic, The Biology of Belief. He and I co-wrote Spontaneous Evolution: Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There From Here, a book that suggests that the next phase of human evolution is seeing ourselves as cells in the body of a super-organism called Humanity — or as I prefer to call it, Humankind, because the currency of this new and evolved organism is human kindness.
So, how are we doing?
For one thing, Bruce and I agree that when we published our book in 2009, “spontaneous evolution” was a noun in the future, and today it is a verb in the present. Burgeoning crises are making evolution necessary.
Among those crises is what is being called the Sixth Great Extinction, and it’s becoming more and more apparent that our own species tops the Endangered (and Endangering) species list.
Please join us for this lively, informative, and ultimately heartening discussion of how our human conditioning has impacted our human condition, where we are now, and what we can do to create what Charles Eisenstein calls “the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.”
Half a century ago, inventor and visionary philosopher Bucky Fuller wrote a book about humanity’s future called, Utopia Or Oblivion. In a shrinking world that could surely use a “good shrink”, these were the two stark choices he saw. Given the option for “oblivion,” perhaps we should consider utopia more carefully. And … as we explore the amazing similarities between the human body and the body politic, we recognize that what we consider “utopia”, the 50 trillion cell community beneath our skin would merely recognize as “health”.

Wiki Politiki Launches on OMTimes Radio
At a time when political polarization, dysfunction, and confusion seem to be at an all-time high, and when noise and static seem to be drowning out sane discourse … the Wiki Politiki Radio Show offers a heartening alternative: Fun, laughter, constructive conversation, and insight.
Join internationally-known author and humorist Steve Bhaerman and his alter-ego, the cosmic comic Swami Beyondananda, as they bring two “visionary, solutionary” voices to the show to offer their viewpoints, and then collaborate to find a wiser way forward. As the Swami would say, “Let’s bring left and right front and center to turn the funk into function, and leave the junk at the junction.”
