To what works for your true happiness.

Sometimes what seemed like the best choice at one time in our life, no longer fits the person we’ve grown into.

It no longer works for us. But did it ever really?

Yes, it did work for us in a way, because at the time:

· We were coping with life’s challenges.

· We felt the need to numb ourselves.

· We felt unsafe or trapped and needed to protect ourselves or others.

· Or we hid from the truth because we couldn’t handle it at the time.

Because of those choices, we were able to cope well enough to give ourselves the space to grow.

But now, we’ve outgrown those strategies, and they are stunting further growth and creating unhappiness for us.

Now what do we do?

The first step is to recognize that we’ve grown and appreciate that.

Then we can acknowledge that what once worked for us, no longer serves us.

And instead of beating ourselves up, we must learn to practice self-love and acceptance.

From there, we can see through eyes of love and non-judgment and easily shift into what now works for our lasting happiness.
